PU Foam (Polyurethane)

PU foam is a low-density, flexible material used in shipping and storage. Like both PE and EPS foams, PU foam is used as dunnage and cushioning, but for the most delicate of items.

PU foam is typically used in upholstery, such as in bedding and automotive seating, and to line the inner walls of refrigerators. PU foam can also be custom die-cut to line casings for fragile items.

Convoluted PU foam, more commonly referred to as “egg crate foam,” is also available, offering enhanced content stabilization and cushioning.

Basic and convoluted PE foam is die-cut and made to order to meet each customer’s unique shipping and storage needs.

An Introduction to Foam Packaging Material

Ensuring that a package arrives with its contents intact is critical for retailers and manufacturers of all types. This is especially true in the transportation industry, where fragile parts like glass must be moved between facilities for assembly. Medical and food suppliers also need antimicrobial and temperature control solutions.

A versatile solution in many of these cases is foam packaging. Foam comes in various customizable materials and is often more durable and lighter than bubble wrap or paperboard filler.
