Paper
Environmentally friendly and highly versatile, paper packaging provides a cost-effective and lightweight option for protecting any material during shipping and storage. Simple newsprint or kraft paper sheets can be used to wrap or pad products and fill voids, while chipboard and corrugated varieties form dividers or pouches. Adherex also develops paper packaging for specialty uses, incorporating rust or scratch prevention, die cutting, and other features to create a custom packaging solution for unique or fragile products like panes of glass or collections of small parts.

Reduce Costs and Environmental Impacts
Finding the right packaging to ship your product safely can be daunting, particularly if the product is a fragile pane of glass or a delicate painted metal part prone to scratches. Protective options are few and often need to be customized out of heavier plastic, adding time and expense to the shipping process—not to mention the environmental toll of plastic packaging. Compared to plastic, paper packaging is eco-friendly, recyclable, lighter, and cheaper to produce and ship. This makes it ideal for general use as wrapping, padding, or void fill, as well as for custom applications—solutions for all of which are available from Adherex.
Paper Packaging Solutions for Every Scenario
Kraft paper rolls:
These rolls of recycled—and recyclable—kraft paper come in a variety of sizes that customers can cut to their needs. Kraft paper is resistant to tears and provides a high-friction surface that keeps products from sliding. It can also be used to wrap items or as sturdy void fill inside packages.
Kraft paper sheets:
Pre-cut and pre-sized kraft paper sheets streamline the shipping process. These sheets can be used to wrap items or interleave between panes of glass for cushioning and scratch protection.
Newsprint:
Ultra-light newsprint is less durable than kraft paper but is ideal for void fill and wrapping. Its low impact on shipping weight keeps costs down.
Corrugated sheets:
A perfect example of the versatility of paper packaging, corrugated sheets provide additional structure, padding, and durability between and around fragile products. Corrugation helps these sheets conform to curved surfaces for superior protection.
Corrugated 45 & LP mailers:
These foldable mailing boxes were originally designed for shipping vinyl records. At 7.5” x 7.5” and 12.5” x 12.5”, they can accommodate a variety of flat, delicate products like magazines, books, or photos. They are constructed from corrugated paper and offer all of its protective benefits.
VCI paper (rust-inhibiting paper):
Volatile corrosion inhibitor (VCI) paper is a kraft paper base coated with a rust-prevention compound. Often used to wrap metal automotive parts, the paper is water resistant.
Virgin kraft interleaving paper:
Like recycled kraft paper, virgin kraft paper is used for interleaving, wrapping, and void fill. Because it has not been recycled, its fibers are stronger and even more tear-resistant than other options.
Die cut sheets:
We can cut and customize paper sheets for almost any specialized purpose, including product organization, custom dunnage, specialized wrapping, and more.

FAQs
How does VCI paper work?
Volatile corrosion inhibitor (VCI) paper is a kraft packaging paper coated with a VCI compound. This compound becomes a vapor and transfers to metal products wrapped in VCI paper, invisibly protecting them from rust and corrosion.
What’s the lifespan of VCI paper?
VCI paper will provide corrosion resistance for metal products for up to two years of shipping and storage, provided the goods are fully wrapped, packaged, and stored in a cool, dry area.
What makes kraft paper unique?
The term “kraft” is derived from a German word for “strength.” Kraft paper is processed in a way that preserves the natural strength of its wood fibers, removing lignin and leaving the pulp unbleached. Combined with the variety of fibers used in the pulp, this makes it more durable and more resistant to tearing than other types of paper. Kraft paper and its byproducts are regularly reused and recycled.
